Do you have an idea for an innovative MOOC? The Online Learning Initiative wants to hear about it. Faculty members are invited to submit proposals until June 1, 2019.

Education innovation is at the core of Penn’s Online Learning Initiative (OLI) mission. Since 2012, OLI has advanced excellence in online learning by supporting the development of online degree and non-degree programs across Penn. In line with this tradition of connecting learners with engaging online learning opportunities, OLI is excited to announce the launch of the Innovation MOOC initiative.

Innovation MOOCs are standalone courses that promote experimentation in online learning by focusing on incorporating new pedagogical strategies, technologies, or approaches to content.

Beth Winkelstein, Vice Provost for Education, is especially pleased to support this endeavor. “Innovation MOOCs represent an opportunity for educators to push the boundaries of conventional teaching methods in order to provide students with dynamic learning experiences,” Winkelstein said. “The Provost’s support of this initiative reflects the university’s commitment to innovative teaching on-campus and online.”

“Innovation MOOCs represent an opportunity to push the boundaries of conventional teaching methods in order to provide learners with dynamic educational experiences.”

Prior to submitting a proposal, be sure to connect with the OLI team to schedule an individual consultation to review and receive the proposal template. The team will provide more information about online opportunities across Penn and answer any proposal questions. The OLI team is always available to meet with faculty members and school online teams to discuss ideas, proposals and future projects.

Please email onlinelearning@upenn.edu for more information or to schedule an individual consultation.
