PennX MOOC "The Top 10 Social Issues for the First 100 Days" is a finalist for the 2018 edX Prize for Exceptional Contributions in Online Teaching and Learning.

The University of Pennsylvania, in conjunction with the Online Learning Initiative, is delighted to announce that the PennX Massive Open Online Course (MOOC), The Top 10 Social Issues for the First 100 Days, is a finalist for the 2018 edX Prize for Exceptional Contributions in Online Teaching and Learning. With over 4000 enrollments, this course utilized the edX platform to bring together international learners across the globe in engaging discussions on the most critical social issues facing the new US president in his first 100 days in office. This course facilitated an international discussion on the state of US politics and generated 3100 discussion posts made by over 550 learners. This success would not have been possible without the scholarship of the 13 faculty members from Penn’s School of Social Policy and Practice (SP2) who contributed engaging lecture videos, detailed infographics, and engrossing discussion prompts.

edX Prize winners will be announced at the edX Global Forum, held in Boston November 15-16, brings together visionary leaders in the digital learning space from the world’s top universities and organizations to discuss the future impact of online learning.
